Health Insurance Care
Health Insurance Care is something nobody wants to deal with, nobody wants to research. But it’s one of the more important decisions you will have to make! What happens when the unexpected happens… That is what health insurance care is for!
What is health insurance?
Health insurance polices come in all shapes and sizes. When you sign up for health insurance you are signing a contract between you and your health care provider. Stating you will pay a renewable monthly, quarterly or annual payment as long as the health care provider provides you with specific heath care coverage which would be stated in your policy.
The health insurance care will most likely have many options to choose from. A popular choice is a deductible plan. This is when the health insurance provider states a sum you must pay out of pocket before the insurance company will pay out. For example you might have a $1,000 dollar deductible meaning you would have to pay out of pocket $1,000 before the insurance company would pay anything. Make sure to read the fine print some heath insurance companies will by 100% after your deductible some will not. ALL will be different!
Co-Payment would be where you would pay part of a doctor visit. The health care provider might say you pay $25 every doctor visit, but they will pay for the rest.
Be sure to read the fine print no matter which health insurance plan you choose. Every one of them will be different. Most of them will have different exclusions you should watch out for. So read the fine print!
How do I find health insurance?
If you have a lower income you should first check with your state for state run health insurance plans. There are some great plans out there for lower income especially when it comes to children. All states are different, but in some states you have to have a federal gross income under $55,000 to qualify! So check your state!
Next call your local insurance agency. The list is long when it comes to insurance companies. Make sure you don’t just call one right a list of at least three places and call them all to compare prices.
One of the best ways is word of mouth. Take the time to ask your friends and family who their health care providers are. Chances are they will have a story for you about who they like and especially who they don’t like.
